ABOUT RAY
Ray Sandelli is a proven leader, veteran, and business professional with a long record of service to both his country and the Southwest Florida community. Raised and educated in New Jersey, Ray went on to serve eight years as a Naval Officer and Aviator. During his military career, he completed two deployments aboard the aircraft carrier USS Independence, supported operations in the Middle East and Cyprus, and later served as an instructor in the Navy’s Advanced Training Command. He was also selected to serve as a member of the Navy’s elite Flight Demonstration Squadron, the Blue Angels, one of the most prestigious assignments in aviation.
Following his military service, Ray built a successful career in commercial real estate spanning more than four decades. His experience includes development and brokerage work across the country, as well as leadership roles overseeing statewide operations in Florida.
In 2019, Ray was appointed by Governor Ron DeSantis to serve on the Lee County Board of County Commissioners. He went on to earn the trust of voters, winning the election in 2020 and later serving as Vice Chairman of the Commission. During his time in office, Ray put his business experience to work, focusing on fiscal responsibility, infrastructure planning, environmental stewardship, and protecting the long-term financial stability of Lee County.
After completing his term in 2024, Ray continues his commitment to public service with a focus on local issues that directly impact residents’ daily lives. His approach is grounded in conservative principles, practical experience, and a strong belief in responsible growth, infrastructure planning, and protecting the character of Southwest Florida communities.
Ray and his wife, Jan, live in Bonita Springs and have three grown children. He enjoys spending time with family, bicycling, being on the water, and anything related to aviation.
